A Heartfelt Thank You to the Amazing Patients of Winshill Medical Centre – June Update

Posted by: Ryan Hampson-Miller - Posted on:

Dear Patients of Winshill Medical Centre,

As we celebrate our 20th anniversary this year, we wanted to take a moment to express our deepest gratitude for your unwavering support and trust in our practice. Your loyalty and understanding have been instrumental in our journey to provide high-quality healthcare services to the community of Burton-on-Trent. We are truly grateful for each and every one of you.

  1. Streamlining Access: Saving Your Time and Improving Efficiency We are thrilled to introduce our new telephone system, designed with your convenience in mind. With the automatic call back feature, you can now request a call back, minimising your time spent waiting in the queue. Our average wait time is under 2 minutes, ensuring prompt attention to your needs.
  2. Enhanced Appointment System: Putting You First To enhance your experience further, our reception team has received specialised training in signposting to other organizations. This means that instead of being solely referred to the GP, you will receive tailored guidance and support from our team. Additionally, we are proud to offer all patients an appointment within 2 weeks. Furthermore, for less urgent matters, you can now pre-book appointments in advance. We kindly request that calls at 8 am are reserved for urgent issues on the day.
  3. Respectful Communication: Reducing Missed Appointments We have noticed a recent increase in the number of appointments that were not attended (DNA), currently at 4%. We kindly request that if you are unable to attend a scheduled appointment, please cancel it promptly by phone, text, or email. This will allow us to offer the slot to another patient in need.
  4. Join Our Patient Participation Group (PPG): Your Voice Matters We value your input and invite you to participate in our Patient Participation Group (PPG). This is an excellent opportunity to actively engage in shaping the future of our practice. Everyone is welcome, and for more information, please email winshill@nhs.net.
  5. Embracing Nature: Welcoming You to Our Sensory Garden We are delighted to announce the creation of a beautiful sensory garden outside the surgery. The vibrant planters and hanging baskets are a sight to behold. We encourage each and every one of you to visit and enjoy this tranquil space.
  6. Community Fun Day: A Heartfelt Thank You We would like to express our deepest gratitude to all those who attended our recent Community Fun Day. It was a remarkable event that brought together patients, community members, and our dedicated staff for a day of joy and connection. We are immensely grateful for your enthusiastic participation and support.

The success of the Community Fun Day would not have been possible without the invaluable contribution of Kim Smith at the Winshill Resource Centre. Kim’s dedication and collaborative spirit helped us organise an unforgettable day for everyone involved. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Kim and the entire Winshill Resource Centre team for there partnership and support.

The event provided an opportunity for us to strengthen the bonds within our community and raise awareness about the services available at Winshill Medical Centre. It was heartwarming to see the smiles, laughter, and positive interactions shared throughout the day. Your presence and active involvement made the event truly special.

We remain committed to fostering a strong and connected community, and we are grateful for your ongoing support. Together, we can continue to make a positive difference in the lives of our patients and the wider community of Burton-on-Trent.

Thank you once again for being a part of our Community Fun Day and for your continued support of Winshill Medical Centre.

Warm regards,

Team Winshill Medical Centre
